I don't know what to say but Lynn LOVES her's ....
Now that the cool weather is here in this area I even put her lowers back on.
As for power ? Well I am only 165# and Lynn alot less and I never found it
lacking power and Lynn hasn't complained other than when I take off from
a stop real quick. But then again mine is alot lighter and has pipes, A/C
and PV 3. I guess we will see how much it gains next Spring when we do
the same stuff to her's.
Rob .....
I'm really enjoying my 2011. Don't think I made a mistake; has good power with no mods and I'm not a light weight. Does run a little hot, but I had a 2010 Ultra as a loaner while they did my 1000 service and it ran almost as hot. I always change pipes and air cleaners, so I knew I would be doing that upfront.
I got the trike back today. One problem was the stearing Stem bolt was loose and
the rear axle had 1/2 inch lead foward on left side and the body was mounted 3/4
inch off on right side. Dealer shop forman did the job and measured frame and was honest about yourk town lack of quality control.Claims Hd shiped some partial assm
units to be finished at york.Bike is square and handles much better.

Same here. I am also really enjoying my 2009 tri ultra. Rides beautifully all the time, No excessive heat and has all the power I need and has never failed me even once. My dealer is absoultly wonderful, Ray C out of Lapeer Michigan. I also bought my Can Am Spyder from same dealership. I dont regret buying a Harley at all. I will do it again in another year or so. happy riding.
Here is a copy of a letter sent to the salesman that sold me my trike at H-D of Erie. This was also sent to the owner of H-D Erie:
Dennis,
I love the way my trike looks, but the performance stinks!
I refuse to put thousands of dollars into a machine that I thought was a ready to ride trike.
This thing runs so hot that it burns my right leg.
To get a ride that is not uncomfortable, I would need to replace the head pipes and get rid of the converter and get a stage 1 air cleaner and a tuner to re-map the trike. ALSO, would most likely need a Parade Fan or a larger oil cooler with a fan.
AFTER, doing the above work, most likely the warranty would be voided anyway. AT LEAST, the engine warranty! The 2 year warranty is one of the reasons this trike was purchased.
When this trike gets hot...it loses all power.
If I had been informed of these problems PRIOR to my purchase, I would NOT have purchased the 2010 Tri-Glide...that's for sure!
I started riding Harleys in the very early 1970's and never owned anything other then a Harley. SORRY to say, this will be my last!
If you know of somebody looking for a convection oven on three wheels, let me know. I would like to sell ASAP!
STAY TUNED for my new YouTube video of me frying an egg on my Tri-Glide. This video is sure to be a big-hitter!
Dang.... I about spit coffee all over my monitor. Not making light of your problem but the letter has me in stitches, thanks for making my morning. I know how you feel and I've lost faith in the dealer also. Since it has come under new ownership it is not the same place. Once I used to feel comfortable walking in the doors and visiting friends. Since it has come under new ownership I feel uncomfortable, the whole vibe of the place has changed. You can tell the employees are uptight and some fear for their jobs. I think once HD forces them to expand and take the allotment HD feels they should for their demographics this dealer is going to be in trouble. Right now they sell a lot of bikes, but then they don't have a lot of bikes alloted to them to sell. Wait till their sitting on 100 or more left over from the previous MY and they have to sell at cost or less just to move them.
I still have allot of miles to put on mine but I am very pleased with the 2011 TG. At this point I would recommend it to anyone that ask. My regret is lack of time this year to put some more miles on it. As I retire next year and I am not taking any vacations so I can walk out door in mid-August, all trips till then will be limited mileage ones. But from 2012 on, should be able to do some touring on it. Again, no regrets to date, for my needs, beats the 05 Ultra hands down. Dennis Swan Muncie, Indiana

Dennis, I envy you being able to retire next year. I've got two more to go but I'm told that time will go fast---ha-ha. By then, I'll move to Florida and have all the time in the world for trike travel. Bon voyage!!

Mine is so close and I think the weight differance is a factor. I weigh 290 and the ol lady 140 something and can really tell the difference when riding two up. When I'm on by myself it is a kick to ride and performs well enough. That 2011 primary gear would have made me a happy camper, the Tri rides cool and does not run hot now. Since the temps have moderated I run 190-200 for short hops and have not seen it over 230 on long hard rides. The EITMS does not and has not kicked in all summer, when riding.
Three years into the model run and HD makes an important improvement, just sick of spending money on reengineering that should have been on the 09. I hear most 11 owners are satisfied with the performance so it had to be the gear change.
HD should make the 11 gearing retro fit available at a reduced cost at least for the 09-10 Tri owners. It was a mistake for HD to engineer on feedback and not had these problems solved by at least the 10 model.
Last mistake I will make when purchasing a Harley davidson because I won't be buying anymore.
