The more I read about problems and issues with our TG's. The lack of dealer and HD to help solve these issues. I wonder if I (we) made a huge mistake in buying a new TG from MOCO.
I love my HD's , this one make # 26 Harley's that I've owned...but I never have seen or had this many issues and problems with one model.
Should I have bought another GW trike? Had two of them and never had these problems, matter of fact I didn't have any on the 07 GW with a CSC kit.
And save all the " go back to jap crap" responses...not what I'm getting at...I love the looks, fit and finish etc of the TG...but WOW...give me a brake...enough is enough...now frame issues????
You read my mind. I've thought about this very thing on several occasions and each time I wish I had not bought the Triglide. I was talking about this just the other day with a guy at work who owns a Wing and I told him I should have bought a Wing and triked it. I can remember when I would be excited to see what changes or models each new year would bring, now I could care less. I also can remember just getting on the bike for a ride and stopping at the dealer just to chew the fat, now I feel uncomfortable and in strange place. Since the dealer has been under new ownership it has taken on this uncomfortable vibe, heck the employees all seem up tight and afraid for their job. I truly believe Harley is going to be in trouble if they don't get their act together. I know I can't in good conscience recommend the Harley Davidson brand and the Triglide specifically to people I meet.
+100% on the above posts. I feel the same. I don't go to the Dealer any more. Lost interest. The one Dealer I trusted with work on my Trikes,Bikes is closed Reggie Pink. The rest of the Dealers around me just BS me. On different days there is a different story. Different Hours to do the same work different numbers$ they seem to just pull out of the air. My trust in them is gone. The dealer network and the Motor Co. But it could be the same with other brands of Bikes. As I don't know how there product lines are doing. I,m sure there is a lot of BS going around. With a lot of Bike , Car and Motor sport Dealers and Companys. As money is tight they will make all kind of claims how good there product is. How good there service is. But the bottom line is they want to part you from your hard earned CASH $$$$ .
Here is a copy of a letter sent to the salesman that sold me my trike at H-D of Erie. This was also sent to the owner of H-D Erie:
Dennis,
I love the way my trike looks, but the performance stinks!
I refuse to put thousands of dollars into a machine that I thought was a ready to ride trike.
This thing runs so hot that it burns my right leg.
To get a ride that is not uncomfortable, I would need to replace the head pipes and get rid of the converter and get a stage 1 air cleaner and a tuner to re-map the trike. ALSO, would most likely need a Parade Fan or a larger oil cooler with a fan.
AFTER, doing the above work, most likely the warranty would be voided anyway. AT LEAST, the engine warranty! The 2 year warranty is one of the reasons this trike was purchased.
When this trike gets hot...it loses all power.
If I had been informed of these problems PRIOR to my purchase, I would NOT have purchased the 2010 Tri-Glide...that's for sure!
I started riding Harleys in the very early 1970's and never owned anything other then a Harley. SORRY to say, this will be my last!
If you know of somebody looking for a convection oven on three wheels, let me know. I would like to sell ASAP!
STAY TUNED for my new YouTube video of me frying an egg on my Tri-Glide. This video is sure to be a big-hitter!

Great letter but Im not sure that it will accomplish anything. You need to send it to MOCO. The You Tube idea is actually a very good one. One of our talented forum members (Rob) should make a cleaver giggle for a You Tube Video addressing the problem plagued TG.
Who knows, it might go viral and the national media may pick it up. MOCO has been turning a deaf ear to owner complaints but Ill bet it would be a different story when they receive attention from the financial media.
I also am done with my dealer, they claim not to have a clue as to the problems with this bike, not to mention the screwed up general service work they have performed on my bikes. I just cant trust them. Fortunatly im capable of doing my own work and it looks like i will be doing my own warrenty work as im sure ive voided the warrenty. When i bought the trike i knew i was going to be changing things as i had resurched it for about 8 months prior, the only thing i didnt know about was the lousey rear brakes and the 30t pulley change ,fortunatly i had made the same pulley change on my '07 RK/Hack so knew how to fix that, the rear brakes im still working on. We are very happy with the trike after i made the necessary mods and the wife rides the sh*t out of it now. Hope to be meeting many of you at the TT Rally in Maggie Valley next spring.
icebite1: Looking forward to meeting you in Maggie Valley next year also. I have also lost all interest in my warranty. The days of customer service is long gone.

If you remember we would every Saturday that you were off ,go out for breakfast and then head to the Harley Dealer just to chew the fat. That has now become the thing of the past.
Did not know about the frame problem? I can actually say I am satisfied with the 2010 Tri at this point. Runs good and runs cool but having said that, I would never have bought it last August if I knew of half the issues HD hides from concerning this Trike.
Just to much money for a Trike I've had to spend this much extra time and money on!
