Response Time
I don't know about everyone else but for the last 4 or 5 days the response time on this forum has been terribly slow. I haven't noticed this on the other forums that I go to.

Yes, I have really noticed that. Im in an underserved internet area where we only have dial up. 33kbs is high speed here and in the last few days there have been times when i couldnt even get on the forum.

Same here, I have high speed DSL and the site was down most of the morning. Maybe it was a server problem.

Me being the semi computer geek I am I sought a software solution once I narrowed down the culprit. HDF runs numerous scripts when the site loads, the dirty doer is a Facebook script they have which I believe is used to collect icons and allow some Facebook connectivity. I use Firefox as my web browser and Ubuntu which is a Linux based OS as my OS, I don't care for Windows. I found a free tool called Noscript that allows me to decide what scripts are allowed to run. I will not allow the FB script to run which has fixed the slow problem for me. Like others have experienced it was getting pretty bad for me, at times I couldn't get on the site so I had to move along to another forum to get my fix.

I've complained about it for weeks now. I use Firefox 4 and installed the Ghostry add on. It will allow you to block those cookies but..... don't block the Internet Brands cookie or it will not load the site properly.
