Default Dyna Fat Bob to Tri Glide Ultra

For several reasons, some beyond my control was time to get a different set up and saw this pretty black 2009 Tri Glide Ultra with 9300 miles on it listed and decided what the hell. Always wanted a trike

So stopping in to say hi and join the Tri glide side of the forum. Already got my parts saved from my old bike going on the new one and the list of modifications planned was started some weeks ago. Now the madness of budgeting begins. Riders backrest, change in bar position, and lift kit are priority. Read every post in this section to get savvy on what to watch out for and see what others have done. Here is a pic to start (its in my sig too but WTH) will post a better one when I get a good poser shot chance

You ought to think about the 30 tooth sprocket as one of the first items to get if it hasn't already been done. I had a 09 TG and it had no power in the hills/mountains. I now have an 11 FLHXXX with the 30 tooth sprocket and it has tons of power.

Yeah I got a list going taking notes from the stickies at the top of the this section. ATM I am busy for a good bit making the Army cough up them school benefits and Las Vegas isn't exactly hilly so fortunately I got some time lol. It is definitely on the list though. Before that I have to resist my normal temptation to hack the stock mufflers until I get some better slip ons.

Riders backrest, taller bars so I am not reaching down for the bars, LED lamp set, Big sucker, auto tune with my power vision, either slip ons or debaffle and DK QQ wave inserts, DK lift kit, need a new long ride recurve shield cause mine is cracked but still using it instead of that 6 foot tall clear one that came with it, already added my laser etched U.S. Cavalry derby cover, put my gloss black horn cover on, and...........

I want to change to the 30 tooth sprocket and do a cam and lifter upgrade but the engine upgrades at least won't be this year.

Welcome to the world of Tri Glides. Nice ride. May I suggest you start with the handling side of your Upgrades and then move on to the Power Upgrades. Wouldn't want you not liking riding 3 wheels because your uncomfortable.

By the way, looking at the position of the rear fender in relation to the rear wheel in you pictures it almost looks like a lift kit has already been installed. Check you lower shock mounts and see if one has already been installed.

Nice looking out, you are correct and I was going to order the lift kit and would have had a brand new set that I had to return. I took a peek under there a bit ago and saw the lift kit brackets and also noticed some pretty wicked gouges going about 4" back on the bottom of the mufflers so apparently someone else addressed that problem after learning about it the hard way. I'm still adjusting to not leaning my Dyna into turns and instead getting used to pushing my Trike into turns so my opinion on handling is not experienced enough with this bike to know specifics of what I want to improve but overall I am really pleased with the way it handles and its hella comfortable. I've had lower back injuries playing around in the dirt doing recon so rider position is really important for me or my lower back starts complaining and keeps complaining for hours after a decent ride. Already ordered a really nice cond used gas piston adj stock backrest missing the cable for $150 from fleabay and having had a backrest on my Fat Bob having that on my seat makes a world of difference for avoiding that lower back misery so should be a lot happier with that.

Forgot to add to that list shocks and fork springs cause trying to decide which setup route to take. Haven't had the bike long enough and so far rider comfort is my only complaint about the way it handles so not sure yet which route I want to take on suspension. I want to make rider position more comfortable then decide if suspension is good, liveable, or needs work. I'm thinking air shocks for the rear and intimators and cartridges for the front but all of this is going to happen as budget allows. Already have the tuner so just had to buy an unlock, debaffle and wave inserts will cost me $30 and A/C already covered cause the current setup is frying my right leg but then its also 117 highs here in Vegas this week and yes I do ride all year here

Definitely, already saw the link posted in another thread and got it saved. I have a phase 5 trucklite 7" lamp was using on my Fat Bob so probably going to sell it and put the money towards the phase 7 kit listed.
