Has anyone taken this course for the Trikes? It is offered in the Atlanta area by the same group that offer the basic course, but for trikes using your ride.
We have't seen it around here, but I did talk to the guys who run the two-wheeled program. Bottom line: Not enough call for it yet, and hard to round up a bunch of trikes for non-owners or soon-to-be owners.
Your local motorcycle shop can sponsor these classes for newbies and get a stable of cheap two-wheelers to run the courses and make out OK financially. Not so with trikes.
I spent many years riding a bagger before taking the safety course. It was a blast going from the bagger to that Buell for the course. Felt like I should have been carrying it instead of riding it. I bet a trike course would be a hoot!
There is one here in the Houston area, but I have not taken it. They plan to have you use your own trike, but can provide a few if you coordinate in advance.
i enrolled in the basic safety course here and it was a ridiculous waste of money and my time. If you need that kind of instruction you really have no business on a streetbike. I learned nothing that wasn't instinct and common sense. just my 2cents
Alpharetta. Here's the link. Next class is 9/24. I spoke with them today. 3 trikes per class and they do have trikes you can use or bring your own. I will be signing up closer to the time. Cost $225 for 2 days of which 4 hours is classroom.

One of the perks from the course is lower insurance rates. They don't care if you have ridden for 50 years ! If an instructor says you know how to ride then they will give you a discount.
