Default 2014 trike suspension

I have a question on the suspension of the 2014 trike. Is a lift kit necessary when you have a heavier passenger. Are they made with a certain weight restriction? Or could they hold two riders that are over 250. I'm not sure if having to much weight will bottom out the trike.

......in a nut shell ... it will.... look at your trike...compare it to one with a known lift kit installed.....you might see a difference....a VERY HELPFUL thing is....buy a parts book and a service book...there is a ton of information that will answer questions......I have an 09 t/g...much better with lift kit......good luck !!!!

A Tri-Glide Lift kit lifts the rear of the bike up 1.25" at the rear wheel and 1.6" at the back of the trunk.

In doing this it provides the following benefits-

Keeps the TG looking level instead of dragging its' tail.

Reduces dragging the pipes on the road when going in and out of driveways.

Shifts more weight to the front tire for better braking.

This slight weight shift also makes for a little "quicker" or easier steering. Many report this simply as "it handles better".

In an effort to keep the tailpipes from dragging, many put too much air in their rear shocks. This makes for a very harsh ride. With the Lift Kit you can run less air in your shocks and experience a better ride.

With a Lift Kit there are no weight limitations other than those set by the factory for the bike, these exist with or without the lift kit.

We also make a Comfort Lift Kit.

The Comfort Lift provide all the exact same benefits as listed above, PLUS, it provides a plusher/more comfortable rear suspension.

The Comfort Lift does have a weight limitation of 540 lbs of combined rider/passenger/luggage when running on rough roads.

Please feel free to write or call with any other questions.

My wife and I are large folk, I am 6'6" over 300, when we go on rides we routinely have 600 pounds on board. Before I raised the suspension pressure to 50psi and had the DK lift installed, it did bottom out a few times on rough roads but never, since.
