If your concerned about money this is where you can save, Neither are necessary and Cyco shoes are good quality and last a long time.. But it's your bike your build and you should do what you feel is best..
One of the reason to go with the newer heads is to be able to run higher left cams. If your having head work done they can do that to your existing heads too with new springs and the porting will be just as good on your old heads too. If you have alot of miles on yours thats a good reason to use the low mile heads. Just a reference the Andrew's 57 is the same as the 37 but more lift on the 57.
