This is going to sound a bit odd, but I'm promise you it is legit. When I bought my '06 Dyna Street Bob in October the prior owner had a detachable windshield installed on it. The lexan had been trimmed to make it fit the Dyna, and it was clear that the windshield was intended for a different style of bike. After looking at all the pictures on the HD website, it's become apparent that it is a Detachable Touring Windshield meant for a V-Rod.
Getting to the point, I have a used V-Rod Detachable Touring Windshield with Docking Hardware that is taking up valuable space at home. The HD website shows this as retailingfor justshy of$400. So, I have a uniqueoffer for any V-Rod owner that is looking for a windshield.I don't know what it would cost to replace the lexan, but I'm soliciting reasonable offers for this windshield.
Ok, the guys at the parts counter quoted me a price of $135 to replace the lexan. Twenty nine hits in 3 days and no takers, I guess I'll throw it up on eBay.
I don't know the VRSC models well enough to know if there have been changes made to the forks between model years. The windshield was originally bought for a100th Anniversary V-Rod. That bike was traded in for the'06 FXDBI that is now mine.
will it fit a 04 and how much have you been offerd.
Yes, it will fit either model V-Rod from '04. Although I think it's a good enough deal, with a new baby coming in May my wife has ASKED me not to buy what I don't need for the bike. I think I'm going to have to pass. Good luck with the sale, I'm surprised it's not already gone.
