You'll love the extra mileage! Don't forget to check the fuel flange and take a green scouring pad to the fuel level strip to clean it up while you have it out. I'm getting around 160-180 miles with 1/8th showing on the guage.
I don't have a V-Rod but know Unlimited Engineering very well. Robin the owner is a great engineer and I have purchased many parts from UE over the past 5 years. UE craftmanship is second to none. If you have any questions about his product(s) or installation you can go to the UE forum:
I installed the UE tank on my 04A and currently have the Ricks tank on my 05B. I like the UE tank better since it is slightly bigger and doesn't say "Ricks" on the side of it. I got rid of the ingnition switch altogether with the UE tank and had a module that killed the ignition if not within 10 feet.
I've had the UE TRICK tank now for a couple of years and I'm very happy with it. I get 34/35 MPG and the tank empty light comes on at 2 with gallons left. so thats 105 to 110 with 70 miles remaining. It is bad/hard on the fuel pump to run the pump without the cooling the gas does for the pump. So I figure on 150 max for refuel. I put on the keyless Guard Dawg ignition on at the same time. I'm very happy with the UE tank its very well made and the install support is great.
