My reference was that the rider would also feel a lot of bounce if it were that bad in my opinion. Look at were your butt is and where the pivot is, anything after the pivot is going to "bounce", albeit more so the farther you move backwards. I think it's more in the appearance than in the actual movement. (Just so we're clear, I'm not giving you or your wife any ****, just stating my opinion of the situation)

It still boils down to two-up, no other bike even comes close to a V-rod doubled up. Sport bikes give up just about everything when they are doubled up. Their handling turns to crap. Flying solo sport bikes will smoke a VRSC. Doubled up, they can't keep up.As for the Euro bikes, well, they do OK but they aren't V-rods. Those of us that have V-rods already know other cruisers just don't compare over-all. The M109 compares favorably, it's just lacking in the twisties (jeez they're heavy!!). The V-max is a fantastic bikeriding solo and it hates being doubled up. Too much flex in the frame. Tourers are comfy but ain't a whole lot of fun.
OurNight Rodis set up to suit us. The only thing left is adjustablerear air ride. That's coming soon. Half the fun of owning any bike is making it yours.

That's the main reason I did it, cause I was tired of picking my wife up somewhere only to realize that I had forgotten to adjust the rear suspension. No more tools now, just the toggle switch to go from solo to 2-up.

Actually, you can put the pegs from the A and B models on the D or DX IF you have an aftermarket exhaust. The holes are still in the swing arm. They just have rubber caps in them. My wife hated the pegs on the swing arm when we tested an A. She didn't like the feel of the swing arm bouncing her feet.
The holesdon't appear to bein my DX swing arm, with the 240 tire, the gas tank is really close, I don't think the olderpegs would work.

I'm sure the holes are there, but you may be right about tank clearance.

FWIW, the 240 swingarm of the 2007 and later VRSCs have never had the holes in them. In 2006 the bikes still utilized the 180 rear tire and the VRSCAs still had the passenger pegs located on the swingarm. The VRSCD and VRSCR had the pegs moved to the rear of the frame(although they still had the same swingarm that the VRSCAs used so they still had the holes--only covered),a location that the VRSCs in 2007 went to exclusively. With this change (and the change of the swingarm to one that would accept the 240 rear tirewith a wider frame) there was no need to drill and tap holes into the swingarm for passenger peg mounts that were not located there.

That 'splains a lot.
Anyone need to borrow a drill and tap set?
