Just got my orange and black stripe '08 Night Rod Special a few days ago and I'm loving it! A friend of mine got one last week and he and his wife came over to my house to show me. I've always liked the way the bike looked, but I was more into the bobber type Harley's. Well, we went riding one day last week, me on my '07 Super Glide and him on his '08 Night Rod special. I was checking his bike out from all angles and it looks awesome from every angle!Everywhere we would stop people would crowd around his bike and justs give him compliments. This bike turns heads like a $30K chopper! During one ride I was right behind him doing about 50mph on my Super Glide, he then accellerated so fast that he disappeared on me! He told me when he slowed down that he got it up to 100mph before he backed off! This bike will totaly fly, it reminds me of an all out sportbike with it's instantaneous accelleration! I have no doubt that in a straight line it will hang withmost 600cc sportbikes! I also have a '08 Hayabusa so I know a little about speed. Well, to make a long story short, I traded my '07 Super Glide for the Night Rod Special and I'm loving it!
U/C; Welcome to the RHSC Club! Depends on where you are trying to beat a 109: 0-60 you smoke it, 1/8th mile you smoke it, 1/4 it's atoss up, twisties you smoke it, looks you definately smoke that huge tranformer looking monstrosity. (Brian J, if you read this, get off the Harley forums. It ain't nuttin' I ain't tole ya B4.)
Sorry Nomad, you put a V-rod next to my former most desired ride, you realize the Yammy is F-U-G-L-Y, but still damn quick in the 1/4 mile for a cruiser. There is no resemblence between a Max and a Rod.
From what I've seen 109, Vmax and V-rod riders identify with each other because we have the cruisers that are the apex predators in the class. Not every cruiser can seek out the weak and the lame Sport Bikes and munch on 'em.
In a test in Cycle World, the NRS beat the 109 in top speed by 1 MPH.
Im happy to see im not the only one to keep my bike inside.
Yep, I keep them both in the livingroom.
Afriend of mine has a '07 M109, andthat thing will get up and go! I just was wondering it the V-Rod was close in performance. From what I'm reading here and elsewhere, they seem to be about even (Kind of like the Kawasaki ZX14 and the Hayabusa).
PS: How do you like that RC51? That's one of the best sport V-Twins made I hear.
