i HAD one that had the SE 16 GA pipes also.Kind of reminded me of what a porsche would sound like with a performance exhaust if you were stomping on the gas. Here is a pic of the one i had
Sounds like a Ducati on steroids....V twin multi valve engine with a big bore and short stroke. Mine has the VMOD pipes and screams at 9k. The only sound I like better is the Destroyer at the strip.
I dont think a v-rod uses a single pin crank as with the twin cam motors
In fact the VRSC's Revolution is a single pin crank. The biggest difference is the degree of seperation, as sfarson said. The crank has to rotate farther for the second fire on the Revolution than it does on the air-cooled engines. (60 degree vs. 45 degree)
I just drilled out my stock exhaust. Sounds much better and did not cost me a cent except for the fuel management system to compensate for the increased airflow of the drilled pipes, topless mod, and SE filter.
Here's a link to different exhaust sounds/ vid clips. http://www.1130cc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2347
So far the clossest you could get to the potato, potato air cooled sound will be from the rhineharts 2-2 staggered exhausts. There are a lot of different exhausts out there, ranging from LOUD to not so loud, either way anything is better than the stock sound imho.
LOL the sound effects written here are too funny...potato, potato, rudabega, rudabega...I had to try that one...rudabega 10X with the deepest voice I could muster...yes, thats it!
