Default High speed wobble

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum. I have an issue I'm hoping to get some input to help resolve.
&nbsp\\;
I own a 2006 VRSCse2 I've owned it since new. The problem is that at around 135 - 137 mph the bike starts to get a wobble. I havent pushed it past this point because I don't want it to become an uncontrolable wobble. The wobble was confirmed by a friend and was also at 135 mph for him. Is this a common characteristic. my first thought was that it's because of the forward mounted controls, and my body acting as a parachute and pulling weight off the front end at high speed. Any ideas on possible causes and remedies for this problem?&nbsp\\; thanks all

Top speed riding your V-Rod isn't something that I condone.&nbsp\\; It just dangerous to do on the open road, but since you asked,
&nbsp\\;
you need to make sure the front end is in perfect alignment.&nbsp\\; Check the triple tube heights and make sure they're even.
&nbsp\\;
You may need a front end dampner for that issue.&nbsp\\; If you have a windshield, dump it.&nbsp\\; It makes it worse.

Supposedly, there was an issue with wobble on the 06SEs.&nbsp\\; However...in addition to what RJ suggests, rear tire alignment, unequal amounts of fork oil in the forks,&nbsp\\;too high&nbsp\\;front air pressure and shocks not set evenly are some other solutions.
&nbsp\\;
Keep in mind if you take your ride to a stealer...they will only test her to 60 mph so you are on your own with the cause and the fix it seems.
&nbsp\\;

&nbsp\\;Thanks guys,
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;I'll check the things you suggested, and post if they resolve the problem. The front suspension does seem a bit soft .

my 109r had the same problem at the exact speed i could hold it at just below and nothing move up and boom pushed it past and still the same . a guy on a bussa said it was&nbsp\\; the air hitting me&nbsp\\; on my shoulders he said lay down on the tank &nbsp\\;and try it the problem cleared up for me . at that speed just a littel pull on the&nbsp\\;bars would start that . i have to say i havent push the vrod that hard the high rpms makes me unhappy.&nbsp\\;hope that helps you ... ride safe lol

Hey gang,
&nbsp\\; I checked the triple tree height and they are properly aligned. A friend v-rodder said he heard that the 06 se got that characteristic because they changed the rake on the triple tree to accomodate easier cornering after they added the 240 rear. Does the DX have the same rake? I havent heard of a wobble problem on them. I'll try laying down on the tank a bit...but with forward controls and at that speed I'm guessing I won't be very comfortable.&nbsp\\; Guys it's not like I'm touring the country at 135 mph... but I'm sure alot of you get the same thing.. a sport bike or fast car sees you and they think hmmm.. that's supposed to be that fast harley.. next thing you know v-rooooom

Uhmmmm...no, can't say that happens. OK, well once. The dweeb in the Chrysler 300 couldn't get going fast enough on the on-ramp for me to bother shifting out of second.
Most of the time what&nbsp\\;I do get is very surprised looks in the twisties when somebody realizes that the bike that just smoked them in the corners has a passenger on it. Cars, other bikes, whatever, if they aren't running at V-rod optimum cornering speed, they get passed. I'm not up for laying the bike down for somebody that's going too slow. I hate it when the bike start falling in on the corners and I can't power out.&nbsp\\;Not my wife's fault, she's an excellent passenger. It's usually when you get behind some cager that enters a curve just right then they scare themselves and slow down half-way through. Following a Goldwing can get dicey also. I've had to dodge a few flying GW parts through with years with various bikes I've had.
