I'm a new V-rod owner, and the first thing I have to do is make it sound like a Harley. I was thinking of getting the V&H doubleshot slip-ons, #18021. My question is will I have to tweak the fuel injection if I just put those pipes on (SERT, PCIII, etc.)? That's the only mod I was going to do.
Thanks
The 60 degree Liquid Cooled, OHV motor will never sound like a 45 degree air cooled, pushrod motor, no matter what you do to it.
After market exhausts do a nice job of bringing out a great sound, and yes, when you change your pipes, you'll need to do something to address the fuel delivery to match the flow.
For just pipes, any Pulse Width modulator will to a fine job. But for the Closed loop system on the 08's you're probably going to want to go with a PCIII with 02 eliminators, or the Mater Tune from The Turbo Shop. I wouldn't bother with the New SEPST from HD. It's not made by the same people who made the SERT, and it's got some growing pains.
