I am looking at getting Screaming Eagle Pipes put on My VROD. I know there are 2 types for the Vrod, but not sure wich one to get. I hav ethe stock pipes on it now, and its too quiet. Has anyone heard any of these pipes? Any suggestions.
I've heard the SE's on a Screamin' Eagle V-rod within the last week and it sounded great. I'm not sure which set it had on it. There is a link to Legacy HD in my sig (rally info) if you want to give them a call. Ask for Jeff in service or Jason in parts sales and tell them that Terry told you to call. You can ask them which pipes they installed. One of the things I along with the new owner noticed was how clean the bike looked compared to the big round up swept stock pipes. More leg room too.
I did call them and there is an 16 Guage pipe, (which I have heard and thats what I have on order) and there is also a Flip FIt, which looks similar to the Stocj Pipes. Has anyone heard anything about the Flip Fits or know what they sound like?
I have put on my V-Rod the 16 guage pipes. After removing the baffels, they sound GREAT. A bit of advice if not already known--you will need some sort of fuel-modulator. I am using the Dyno-Jet PowerCommander, have had the bike dyno-tested, and been told that there would not be much that could be done to make it run more efficently. You will lose out on some low-end torque if you remove the baffels, and your gas mileage will suffer, but I feel it is worth it.
