The worst I EVER got, and had a blast doing it (1st and 2nd gear, mountains, riding double), was 38mpg. For my bike to get 28 I'd have to have a leak in the tank!!

I get between 30 and 35 mpg on mine, and yes I ride it like I stole it.

I ussually only get right around 30. I do allot of highway riding between 80-85. That's out of the range of the closed loop, and at almost 6k rpm... so it eats gas. I imagine best fuel economy would be cruising around 65 or so.

80mph riding double with the throttle lock set on 105 degree day with probably around 7% humidity on I-10 from Phoenix to Benson AZ and back: 49mpg both ways, on two different weekends. All I can figure is the computer read the thin dry air and really backed off the mixture.

You're getting the best mileage I've heard. Are you running a 30t up front? I never get close to that. 35 is about the best I ever get.

Right around 28-30 is what I get with zippers, BB 26 tooth and 16 gauges. Oh yeah and a very twitchy wrist.

Nope. Totally stock 06 D, K&N air filter and Mobil1 V-twin. Normal for me is 40-42 mpg. It doesn't matter if it's my daily commute or weekend cruise.
Stock meaning Sundowner, Ginz Choppers sissy bar, Custom Chrome grips and a River Road sissy bar bag. No blue bottles or spinner exhaust.
