vrod alarm
I just picked up a 02 v rod and it has the alarm system, but I can not locate the siren, or even where it should be, as maybe there isn't one for the bike. Anyone assist with where to look.

A Siren is not always included with the alarm. Does the bike "chirp" twice when you turn it off, or just the lights blink. No chirp means no siren. If it chirps, then the siren is under the passenger seat, remove the two bolts under the riders seat holding the rear seat. It could also be under the mud guard between the rear seat pan.

Thanks, there is no chirp, but I was thinking that it might have been disconnected, as I see some find it annoying. If it did not come with, then maybe the plug in is there and I can pick one up. The lights do flash. cheers

Yes, if you lift the riders seat you will find a spare connector with a dummy cap installed. That is for the siren. It's a simple install. Also, HD has two kinds of siren models, with or without the antenna for a remote. It's only a few dollars more for the one with the wire antenna. You can buy the remote later but at least you will have that option if you ever desire to go that route.
