10 minutes later i was rolling through the neighborhood. felt good to be on that thing again. been months. thanks to everyone's help, especially Herr Monk and SpicOfTheDevil. Also DesertSpeed with his encouragement. look around for me in here, i'll have a pic of the night rod in a couple of days....Too bad none of you live in Southern California, cause i'm up for a ride now.

DesertSpeed mentioned an AGM battery....is this the same thing guys?

No, it's your main battery on the bike: Absorbtive Glass Mat.
$135 bucks? I bought mine at Atlanta HD for just under $97 out the door.
I don't have the keyless conversion, so I wasn't aware of that problem. My bike is well protected by the fact that every LEO in west Georgia knows my bike, helmet and the jacket I usually wear. (Kind of hard to miss a parade flag size 101st patch.)
The law enforcement folks around here are good people.
Just a heads up for vrsc with the security system on it. You must ride your bike for a least a 4hr. ride to fully charge your battery on your alarm if it has been sitting for a long period of time. So in other words, if you take trips around town with your bike your battery, for your alarm, will mother a full charge unless u take that 4hr. ride.
