Just picked up a used 2003 vrod... everything runs pretty good with is except around 3000rpm's under certin accelatring conditions. If I am on the express way coming up the gears I occasoanly get some hesatation just in the 3000 range, all other times it runs great. It has a rinehart exhaust, PCIII, and what I assume is a higher flowing air filter. I am thinking the PCIII might need a little fine tuning? That do you guys think?
I've heard of the 2900~3200 rpm stumble, but my bike never did it. You can check 1130cc.com for a map for your set up. PCIII and Rinehart are pretty common. Most V-rodders are using K&N air filters, synthetic oil, etc.
I have a custom map for the 2002-2006 VRSCA with Rineharts on it. You can find it on the 1130cc.com forum in the map library if you want to try it. I had no hesitation at 3,000 rpm when I was using it, I have since changed the exhaust as the Rineharts began to make my hearing go away.
