I traded my 2010 Road King for a 2009 VRSCAW - I have had it three weeks now - I have put just over 1000 miles on it in that 3 week period. I absolutely love it. The RK is /was a nice bike...I owned it just short of two years. The stock bars on any RK are just as bad or worse than a DX as far as comfort. I am 6'2" the AW fits me much better than the RK did. I do not ride any long hauls anymore and I ride solo so the V Rod is perfect for me. I do not miss my RK at all. The only advantage the RK had was air shocks and that can be remedied on a V Rod with $$$

The bars on an AW are much more comfy than a DX - I looked at and rode a 2012DX but I decided to get the 09 AW as it was way more comfy.

My problem is that I hate the look of reduced reach bars and I'm not a fan of the new tail... I made my '09 different and my own, that's for sure. Although I plan on making a seat/fender combo for next season that will put me lower and further back...

Who would ever get a RGC in black denim?

When they could have this.

Real smart bikers that's who.

The money thing aside, I'd do it if I were you. VRODS are sweet. Back in the day I didn't like 'em too much except for the CVO's in the mid 2000's but over the past few years with these cool Night Rods, they are really growing on me. With the right exhaust that engine roars too! If I was in the market for a bike, I'd definitely consider a VROD.

I thought the same thing when 2012 came out.. I hated the new rear. When i saw it in person i loved it. I know they all have the same engines and stuff but to me they totally changed the 2012 to my liking alot. enough to have me considering this trade. The reduced reach stock bars on the new rod are so subtle i dont think they look like reduce reach. This decision is going to be tough cause the fatboy lo is a great bike...

Ya i love the Night rods..The New Night rod is wild!! There are some cool options for exhaust on this bike for sure! Some guys are even ripping the stock mufflers off and just installing small turn out exhuast tips right to the head pipe heat painted black!! And it sounds awsome.. Doing it that way you only have to buy a tuner save big money! You can fit a 260 rear on these bikes stock also. I can picture it now big fat 260 on the back, killer exhaust ,Glowing red Killer glass radiator tube installed... Bike would be sick! Look like something a super villain would ride! LOL.... I sound like a young kid..

UPDATE!! Called the dealer he said i would lose $1,500 on my Fatboy LO. So he would be giving me like 15,800 for it! But he would sell me a Denim Night rod for 15,299 otd!! So by my math that a $500 credit cause the Night rods cheaper!!! Uhhh maaan!!! Do i really want to do this???

Wow that's a good deal. Last I checked MSRP on a V Rod without ABS/security was $14,995. So you're saving almost $1000....
