Doing it that way you only have to buy a tuner save big money! You can fit a 260 rear on these bikes stock also. I can picture it now big fat 260 on the back, killer exhaust ,Glowing red Killer glass radiator tube installed... Bike would be sick! Look like something a super villain would ride! LOL.... I sound like a young kid..

Here's an A/DX with the short pipes They don't get much tougher looking than this IMO:

Im going to try test ride one of these Bad boys this weekend if i get a chance! This is going to be a hard decision but i think a test ride will make it easier! I think the edge that the Fatboy has right out of the box is its a traditional harley and old school and old school never gets out dated! Plus with the Fatboy theres so many directions of style and accessories you can do! With the Vrods or Night rod for that matter there really is only one direction of style Futuristic looking drag bike! Im weird i like old school alot but i also like the New school Muscle bike look also! Plus the 125 stock hp is pretty good bragging rights! Hopefully the test ride on the new 2012 will tell me more!

Been following your quest here and on 1130.com.
You are asking all the same questions I have.
My situation is slightly different;
2008 Ultra, 255 Cams, many added accessories and it's paid off.
Just going back and forth on just riding it or switching it for a Vrod.
Not doing the "touring" thing anymore, so the V seems like a no-brainer.

I too have sat on the new '12's and like the feel
Next step is a test ride, kinda holding off as I think I will like it and pull the trigger.

So I will be looking for your test ride report next week.

Hahah... Sounds like im the guenne pig. Im going to try get to the dealer Saturday hopefully! So you are keeping your Ultra? If so yes its deffanetly a no brainer for you! I would have got it already if i can have both bikes! But since i can only have one its a really hard decision! I really love softails and love my Fatboy lo.. But theres just something about a fast Muscle bike from Harley that i love! I love the blacked out look of the Night rod it really fits my style. I didnt even see this coming till i went to the dam dealer for an oil filter for my Lo. Should have never sat on that dang 2012 Night rod! Its amazing how much they changed it for comfort.

No, getting rid of the Ultra
No need for two bikes
I can see getting another touring bike later on
But mainly want a bike for those short and 100+ miles trips
Don't even get me going on color choice - Denim or Vivid
Also I am not in any rush, so I may wait and see what the 2013 model brings
Don't think it will be any or many changes as the '12's had a bunch

Ya usually i would wait till the newer models come out but there is no way they are going to change anything after the overhaul they just did to them! If you look at the new 2013 color chart they dropped sedona orange and added red sunglo to the Night rod thats it. So for me i want black so that dosent matter. I think i want the Denim. Will you have a passenger at all? I think thats one thing im alittle worried about that back seat looks allittle thin! Im sure its an easy fix tho since its a pillion.

Yes I will have my wife on the back and yes I have concerns too as she has been spoiled with the Ultra passenger lazyboy seat she rides on now.
I do want to look at the '13 Sunglo Red, but will most likely end up with Denim
