It depends on how long you have allowed the bike to sit without riding it. I put a battery maintainer on if I am not going to ride for about a week. Time, hot weather and the alarm will discharge a battery. If it is occuring faster than about 3 weeks with the alarm set or 5 weeks without, you may have another problem.
Sorry Guys, turns out I am a big idiot. It was not the batterys fault, it was my alarm thingy that had no battery. It was the last thing I checked.
They say that 06 and after models face no problem on their batteries. They got the battery problem fixed.
Anyways, this after market tuner told me there are a **** load of engine kits for the bike. Even a 1500cc kit. It can get up to 200hp...
It might sound stupid but I cant wait till my bike gets old. In a couple of years, I ll definatelly install one of them kits.
For now, once I got 3000kilometers on I ll remove the exhaust mufflers and install the program. Just for the sound.
To bad they didn`t make pipes like these for V-Rods, people hear mecoming downthe highway before I get to them.
I was in Sturgis 3 years ago, myfriendandI were going down the highway, and he rides alittle ways back from me.
When I come up on other riders, or cars with there windows down, he noticed that most of them looked back when I got a few car spacesfrom them,so he rode ahead of me once, and I passed him, and before I got to him, he said he could hearme loud and clear when I was coming up on him.
Unlike most bikes, you cant really hear them until there next to you, and passed you.
I'd challenge your bike to be louder than mine at their respective cruising RPMs, much less than redlines. Bear in mind that you cruise at about 3000 and I at about 5000.I've set off car alarms, not in a parking garage like most people, but from the inside lane on a four lane road. Wanted to see if it was really me so I went around the block and did it again. My Brother says my bike is obnoxiously loud. They can be as quiet or as loud as you want them to be.
My friends say they same about my bike being so loud it is annoying.
I can cruise by cars as low as 2000rpm and setalarms off on any street, and even cars on the otherside of the street.
And I don`t usually cruise at 3000 rpm, I ride the crap out of my Harley, I don`t baby it, I bought my Harleyto ride, and not to look pretty to go down the street to the local bar, I usually ride by them.
It is alittle bit over stock EVO, but I race anybody, not to win, just to race, I race crotch rockets all the time for the fun of it. LOL!!
A couple of years after the V-Rod came out, I was driving my semi truck on a 4lane side street.
I was going about 40mph, and I had my window down. This bike came up on me fast, and when it got closer to my window, I heard him down shift, and then hit the throttle, and when he went by he was kinda sideways, and that was one of the loudest bikes I have ever heard.
Most any VRSC pipe that does not have any kind of baffle is LOUD, but that's because, in part, the R.P.M. is higher and more importantly the compression of the cylinders is greater. (Stock VRSC is 11.3 to 1)The stock pipes are some of the quietest I've heard though.
I like loud Harleys and I bet yours rates at the top.
Yep you got that right about the higher compression, I knew a guy with a stroker engine, and that was one of the loudest bikes. I just might have to get a V-Rod and take the baffles out.
Hyjack threat? No its nice to see people participate instead of creating a new thread while questions have been asked before and answers given.
Now when it comes to loud, loud is annoying. Unless it is a Harley. You can have a loud Ferrari, Lamborghini, Dodge, Ford, Yamaha, Suzuki, Toyota whatever, but the most distingtive (dont know if thats the word that I am looking for) sound EVER, will always come from a Harley. Even before I owned a Harley, or my father and brother did I liked the sound.
Unless its a Harley, if its loud its noise.
What about the saddlebag mounting kit? I am thinking about installing one BUT, I dont care that much if it is going to make my bike look ugly. So my QUESTION IS: If you dont have the saddlebas on the bike can you see the srews and the parts and all on the sides of the bike?
