Took them off where, at the heads or at the joint between the head pipes and mufflers?

Gotta be careful when you do this, either way but more so if they are removed from the heads. Cool air can flow in and cool the valves too quickly, possibly warping them. Bike ain't gonna sound near as good with warped valves.

Well I ve been told that before as well. Its right after the catalyst. Bellow the passengers footpegs. Just the iron end is removed.
Only temporarily though cause I am building new exhausts, exactly look alike (love them end caps), only empty inside with adjustable noise.
They are giving me two options for the adjustment. I can either be doing it electronicaly, or mechanicaly. I went for mechanicaly since I dont want to go into deep with electronincs and all, sounds much more care free.
Anyways, I also had the C R A Z I E S T I D E A ever for my V Rod. Long term, I d love to do it. Long term though. But if I do it, get ready to freak out.
Ordered a bunch of stuff as well (windshield, base and temperature oil thingy, sissy bar and luggage rack etc.). Did not order the xenon lights yet dammit.

Your comment about "Electronically" worries me slightly. If you adjust the intake or exhaust YOU MUST modulate the fuel curve. (Which is only done electronically) If you do not add something like a PowerCommander, Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner or Fueler, CFR fueler, TCI's modulator, or any of the other ones you are going to lean out the bike way too much and possibly cause yourself some major problems. Let us know what you are talking about.

No just the noise coming out from the exhausts (when I ll install them back) will be controlled either manualy (thats the word I was looking for instead of mechanically) or electronically.
Anyways, so you suppose I should also use a program after I change the exhausts?

I also added a DNA airfilter, to tell you the truth I kind of regret, I know it probably does not make any difference at all but, is a KN filter much better?

Also how big will the difference in consumption will be after I install a program? Will it **** me up, or it will by just barely noticable.

Never seen a DNA, and I would only go with a K&N or the Screamin' Eagle.

Your fuel consumption/mileage will actually get better without remapping/modulation. Most think that is a good thing, but in reality it is because the bike is running lean. Lean=Hot and the leaner it is the hotter it is. Too lean and too hot and you run the risk of engine damage because of the heat. With remapping you will see some mileage drop, but probably only a couple of miles a gallon. Far better to lose a little mileage than the value and condition of your bike.

Yeah, so I will. Of course I will go for a program any time soon. And custom built fully open exhausts, that look exactly like the stock ones.

Anyways, wich tuners are there out there for after market Harley parts. Name some please.
Two Brothers, Screaming Eagle, Kuryakyn, W&W, D&D...
