Ricor IAS Suspension: A close second to me are the Ricor Inertia Assisted Suspension (IAS) racing shocks I put on the motorcycle to replace the silly-*** good-for-nothing Arnott Aldan air-shocks I had that just about knocked my molars out every time I good a thermal-peak in the Virgina highways at 70 MPH+! (Road expands under heat from sun and two edges touch and form a peak across the road). I can tell you that this shock doesn't have the engineering compromise that all other shocks operating on (reacting only to wheel movement). The shocks are oil and gas dampners with adjustments for compression/rebound and spring height (sag) and they have dual circuits in them allowing them to react to wheel movement and chassis movement separately and appropriately. The first thing I noticed putting them on was that the motorcycle no longer takes a dive in the front when braking hard... neither does the front end want to lift off when I accelerate from a stop or power shift into 2nd. The wheels stay firmly planted to the road at all times and the ride is icey smooth. In fact, the shocks have increased my curve cutting confidence dramatically and I am even incorporating some semi-MotoGP-style lean-offs with brake-trailing in hard curves (as much as you can do with front controls). lol
Lyndall Gold-Plus Brake Pads: Another recent upgrade I did after some significant research was going to the Lyndall Gold-Plus pads. They are Kevlar-Carbon pads but out perform the Brembo Sintered metal pads I was using (I think OEM). I had to get used to the grab of them but it is a smooth grab on the rotors. Also dustless and noiseless but I am interested in performance foremost so don't care about that. Sintered metal brakes pads have alwasy provided the greatest stopping power but no longer. Really.... folks... think about making some counterbalancing braking improvements any time you have made speed/acceleration performance improments. When you go faster you need to stop faster. I like the new line up of Lyndall Carbon Composite rotors too (the one piece design due out in March 2014).
Supercap Battery: I am working on a Supercapacitor battery alternative that will knock the battery weight down to less than 4 pounds total. Got it working in a spreadheet right now... nothing tangible. But pretty darn cool though... no more lead-acid (or other chemicals) -- never replace the battery again! Many folks don't know that this technology is ready for use and very few products such as battery alternatives on the market yet.

The Ride and Handling was greatly improved. I was so smooth I was falling asleep on the Highway.
As far as the light weight Battery there are a couple (Lithium-Iron) already out on the market for the V-Rod. they weight between 3 1/2 - 4 lbs.
One is Ballistic Battery and the other is Shorai.
