Charging issue
I have recently purchased an 08 V Rod Night Rod Special. The bike only has 3,000 miles on it and i have put 900 of those miles on with no issues at all. Recently the battery light and check engine light came on while starting out on a short ride. One new battery and several jump starts later the bike is sitting in my garage. All fuses test good. Grounds look good. I've got to assume failure of voltage regulator or stator but is that normal with only 3k? Will have a multimeter to test further tonight. Just wondering if people have heard of this problem with such few miles. Previous bike were 03 Sporty 1200 with 18k...never an issue and 05 Super Glide 12k...never a problem.
