Nice to find HDForums... so much information and good natured commentary.
I'm located in Brentwood - Essex.
Bought a 1996 FXD as I retired early and I'm having so much fun just riding and experiencing the torque and low notes of the big V-twin.
Had a range of bikes:
BSA 250
Triumph T120V
BMW 800
Moto Guzzi 850T3
Honda 250 (ugh!)
BMW 800
Harley FXD Sport
Moto Guzzi 1000 Cali III
Harley FXD Dynaglide
Without a doubt the two FXD's have been the best since the Triumph all those years ago. Sounds like a bike should, reliable, comfortable and simply a delight to ride.
Just had a couple of long runs around London and back and its turning 56 mpg so I'm fairly happy with the economy as well.
This weekend I'm changing the tyres... yes I can do that myself and it saves a lot of Ł's.
