Hi everyone,
Well I'm probably the newbie of all newbies so I better introduce myself before jumping in and trying to learn from your no doubt vast wealth of knowledge. I'm one of those chicks that always said "I wish I could ride... " but grew up with a certain type of "friends/boyfriends" in the 80's that really didn't encourage chicks to ride Harley's and they were the only bikes that appealed to me. Anyway after being volunteered as "support vehicle" for an up and coming road trip I said no thanks and went and booked a lesson. 4 lessons later I had my little licence (max 650cc/40cui for first 12 months in Australia) and 6 months later bought a 99 FXD which had just been completely rebuilt with only 500km on the rebored 96cui motor. Now 6 months later I have my open licence and have already clocked up 5000km on her. We are planning a trip around our half of Australia in August so that's 11,000 km round trip.
So I guess what I'm saying is please excuse me if I ask the wrong questions or call parts by the wrong names but I'm new AND I'm an Aussie, not to mention a bloody female!
Cheers all!
Jen
