Hello, My name is John, I am a new member and a noob rider. I have recently gotten out of the US Army with an honorable discharge, I served 3 years as a 31B/Military Police. Since I have gotten out of the military and returned to civilian attire. No need to thank me, I didn't do it for the glamour.
I have bought myself a 2000 HD Sportster XL883 with 17k. It came with drag pipes and forward controls. I am currently rebuilding the bike as of right now. The bike had set parked in the back of a garage and the fuel had gummed up inside the tank and CV carb. The liner inside the tank had bubbled and had separated from the tank itself. The fuel tank and seat had to be replaced, found almost new items from my buddy who had his original tank and seat. I have decided to buy S&S performance parts: intake manifold, Super E carb and a stealth air cleaner. All I lack now is to start installing parts and learning on how to ride a cruiser. I have ridden dirt bikes (I know, I know; not the same). lol.
I am pleased to be a new member and hopefully I can make new friends as well as learning from all of you a thing or two about Harley Davidson.
