Riding Gear???
Didn't know where to post this....but here it goes. Can anyone recommend a site to pick up riding gear (helmet, jacket, gloves). I know a helmet should be DOT approved and gloves are easy so long as they work, but a jacket would be harder for me to make a decision on. I want something that will protect, but not extremely hot to wear....and I don't want a jacket people in crotch rockets wear. Any suggestions?

welcome here and hope you enjoy the place. you can go by your local dealer and try some sizes on, since there is so much variability in fit, buying something online might be difficult if you dont know what size. helmets can come in oval or round depending on your head shape/size and you really want one that fits properly. same thing with jacket and gloves. once you get sizing down you can probably find some stuff either on ebay or thru search for what suits ya. gloves can be pretty cheap and you might find a deal at the dealer. jackets can be quite expensive depending on what you're looking for (ie. leather, accessories). good luck and send us a pic of what you're riding. stay safe

With the exception of our helmets, we've picked up most of our gear at motorcycle rallies. Prices generally beat the internet and you can try on before you purchase. I've found the try on pretty valuable with leather riding jackets. Some look pretty nice but feel lousy when you put them on. Good luck and welcome to the site.
