Long time J*p bike rider, long time motorcycle enthusiast, soon to have my first Harley. Working out a trade to get a 1979 Shovelhead Super Glide. Any and all advice on Shovelheads welcomed.
At the present time, she has a FLH front end with a 21" front wheel, drag pipes, and will be getting the standard BT dash/speedo set up. Future mods I'm considering are a Thunderheader and maybe floorboards instead of forward controls. Maybe I'm drifting toward making an Super Glide into a Electra Glide, but I don't care. I ride a lot and just want to be comfortable.
Oh, it also has a pillow king/queen seat. Any seat suggestions are invited, I'd like something a bit wider and very comfy for lots of riding.
I've been looking for general info on care and feeding of Shovelheads, too.
Welcome for Northern Illinois, enjoy the forum. I have received a lot of good information here.
