Hey everyone! Last week I picked up my first Harley, a 2004 XL883C with 17k miles. The story was he bought himself a new Softail and was gonna give the wife the sporty, but one thing led to another, they split up and now the bike is in my garage.
I think I really came out on top because I only gave the guy $1700 for the bike. I got it so cheap because he said the charging system was bad. He said it definitely needed a new rotor, stator, probably a voltage regulator and swore it had electrical issues and was probably cursed lol. Well the day after I brought it home I began diagnosing everything and found a simple solution to ALL of the problems.... a bad battery. Popped a new battery in her and can't find a single issue at all with the bike now.
Anyway, I'm glad to finally have my HD. I look forward to playing with this little beauty and making her my own. Say hello to Bad Omen...
I have a nearly identical bike... '07 XL883C. You're going to love it! I found a clip-on windshield, better shocks and a Mustang seat made mine much more comfortable. Welcome to the group!
