Merry Christmas from Northern Utah. Been riding my whole life but just got my first Harley. 1987 FLHS. First on the list was to get rid of the live to ride accents and the leather saddlebags. Moved the battery under the seat and put on hard bags. She is in a lot of pieces now that I have her home but she will be ready by spring with a new coat of paint, a few new accessories, aftermarket batwing to hide the breadbox dash, a new seat, and a ton of hours. Thanks so much to this forum for all the help I have gotten so far.

I had a customer that was suffering from a brain tumor and was needing to sell it. Unfortunately, he passed away a little over a week ago. His two year old son kept hugging the bike before I drove off. Broke my heart. He moved his family to Washington to be with his family. He had a personalized shift linkage. I am using that and the license plate to make his family a plaque for them to remember his bike with. Way too young to have to go through that. His dad owned it before him. As you can see in my gallery the gas tank has been modified which I think looks better than the OE FLHS tank. I think I may do a little work on the tank and repaint it to keep it the way the previous owner had it. This bike was his baby. Maybe in a few years when his son is old enough, I can get this bike to him. It is a little rough and dated but I have already bought plenty of upgrades. Lower fairings, new seat, extended hard saddlebags, removal of the gold accessories, Vance and Hines pipes. I removed the rear fender and filled the numerous holes. I took off the tail light assembly and I am installing LED strip lights between the fender and bags. The fender is extended to match the new saddlebags. I installed an aftermarket fairing that I am not a huge fan of. I scored an OE shovelhead fairing on eBay last night. Anything to hide the breadbox dash is a bonus. I have most of the stuff in the paint booth ready for it to get a little warmer to paint. I would have been better off buying a new bike, but this has been a fun project. I have bought two fairings, three windshields, three gas tanks, and two seats trying to get the right look. Going for more of a street glide look. Luckily I have found cheap deals on Craigslist and eBay. So, I will resell when I am done.
