Figured I'd start off my tenure on the forum with an introduction in this section.
A while back I had a sportster that I liked. Eventually I purchased an Indian Scout that I thought was the ultimate bike for me. It was lighter, faster, handled better, and had the looks. I've had the Scout for about 6 months now and to be quite honest the more I ride it the more I dislike it!
While it may be a better bike on paper and initially all of those aforementioned qualities seemed great initially I'm now realizing I wish I had a Harley! I think the best way I can put it into words is by a comparison. Anybody that is into firearms knows that technically a Glock is a better overall gun than a 1911. However if you asked me which gun I rather keep I'd say I want my 1911 everytime! Thats how it is with the Scout. On paper its a better bike overall, however there is nothing that can replace that solid iron feel, trans that clunks into gear like its made from melted down Sherman tank parts, and that classic HD rumble.
Needless to say I'm currently working on selling the Indian and getting back onto a HD, specifically an older softail. I look forward to exploring the forum and getting back onto a HD!
Why not both? You like things about both. I have an Indian and a Harley. I traded a Victory in on the Indian and I still wish I had that too. They all have things about them that are special.
Welcome to the forum. I am new but starting to like it around here.
