Hello EveryoneI am new to this forum and fairly new to being a Harley Davidson owner and rider. I own a 1988 Sportster xlh883. She is called "Rosie" because on the current gas tank there was a beautiful rose. Right now, my bike is at the performance center getting a makeover. To reduce costs I have been attempting to order all of the upgraded parts myself however, this has not been an easy task.
I love LOVE LOVE being an owner of a beautiful motorcycle and ride her every chance I get. She and I have really been through it together. I was in a terrible accident a week after I picked her up while trying to learn to ride. I made the mistake of attempting to ride a bike that I was unable to touch the ground with my feet and ended up whiskey throttling into a tree. Since then I have healed but was in another terrible automobile accident in which the driver of the vehicle I was in was drunk and slammed into a steel fence doing around 40 miles per hour.. During that time I put my rosie into the shop and had her repaired and customized to fit me. I was unable to resume learning to ride for another 3 months. I love riding more than anything else. LIVE TO RIDE....that's me.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I am 56 years old and live in Merced California. Now I am the COOLEST grandma because I don't let anything stop me from what I want and my grandaughters have seen this, they also love seeing me ride my Rosie.
