I bought an 04 Road King last year. I enjoyed the time I have spent on her but have realized that she is a little much for me. For lack of a better way of saying it, I am stuck with her. I have decided to make her what I need her to be.
She is an 04 Road King classic and I have begun the process of stripping the batwing, bags and associated rails that go with them to lighten and lower the bike. I am going to get shorter shocks to lower it so I am flat footed and hopefully knees bent. I am thinking about a 2 into 1 exhaust instead of the y pipe dual. Any ideas on whether this is feasible?
I have read on other forums that i shouldn't have bought a bagger if i didn't want a bagger. Agreed but can't trade her in or sell her so i have to make her work for me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hey Bob, welcome to the forums from Texas. I bought a 1979 FLH in 1981 and I stripped everything off of it, eliminated the left muffler and welded up the pipe that it connected to. Today I have a 2 into 1 D&D exhaust on my 2017 RGU. Good luck.
Agreed but can't trade her in or sell her so i have to make her work for me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Welcome,
Resale value sucks...but that helps when trying to buy...everybody on CL and facebook marketplace wants to trade these days...trade it for a smaller bike...
Touring bikes look like *** stripped down..
