Howdy, the name is Mike. I’ve been a rider for over 40 years and just picked up my first Harley. I’ve had big cruisers before, just not a Harley. I blame my kid. He played the “Hey dad, why don’t you get a bike again so we can go on rides” and it worked. I found a great buy on a 2012 Switchback with only 8K miles and a crapload of aftermarket already on it. I’m real happy with the bike so far, but I am finding that it is very difficult to find aftermarket parts for this model. I’m guessing it wasn’t an overly popular model and it was not cost effective to develop parts for a lower production model. I got it with a solo seat on it and the two-up seat in hand. I like the looks of the bike with the solo, but need to have the ability the put the wife on the back every one hundredth ride. I’ve got a handful of takeoffs to list once my probation period is up, so keep an eye out.
In the mean time I will be catching up on older posts to get ideas and suggestions on Switchbacks. Mine would be the little one in the background. The Big Dog belongs to the kid.

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan! I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding. Good Luck!!
