Hello HD family. This is my first post and I am new to the HD forums and also HD riding in general. I bought my first bike about a month ago (2006 883R Sportster see picture) and love the bike and riding in general. I got this bike as a "beginner bike" while I get some miles under my belt, learn riding basics and figure out what riding style suits me. My only regret is not getting into the HD riding lifestyle at a younger age! So far, I have probably put 700 miles on my bike and wake up every day wondering when my next ride is going to be. My sales guy at the local HD dealer gave me some great advice. He told me to get some experience, and figure out what sort of riding I foresee myself doing. At that point, I could figure out whether or not I needed an upgrade and what type of bike I should get. When I first got my bike, I planned on mainly riding on weekends, maybe after work for a few hours mostly adventuring through two lane country roads. I did not see myself being a big highway or long trip rider. Mainly day trips through the mountains and exploring local towns within a 200 mile radius. There is a guy down the street with a 2016 Electra Glide who has helped me learn a lot. I have already ridden with him and really enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship that comes along with the hobby. I also realized his bike is on a completely different level than mine ha. He is involved in a local club and goes on all sorts of rides. I am taking it day by day and just trying to enjoy the ride!

My current 883R is great for now and I am really enjoying it. Naturally, I have already started looking around at other bikes to see what is out there. I am a real sucker for the anniversary models and am curious about a couple of models. The two I am interested in are the 2013 Sportster 1200 vs 2013 FXDC Dyna Superglide. I am 30 years old, 6'2" and 180 lbs. Do y'all have any recommendations as to which of these two bikes may be better for me long term? I guess the biggest factor will be the type of riding I plan to do...

Then you will see doors marked for the mortuary, skeet shooting, a room where we make fun of In-Jun bikes, and of course we have a ahh, umm, oh yeah a across the hall.

We had a BOMB MAKING room but, well, ahhhhh, 1 of the guys just didn't understand Blasting Caps very well so..... you know.

We have our own pub .
