Hello from Maine
Quick backstory:
I had a small bike many many years ago. Put thousands and thousands of miles on it (including a couple trips from Maine to Indiana) since my butt was basically glued to the seat back then.
Anyway, long story short, got back into it this year, took the class again so I could do it with my oldest son. Bought ourselves a couple old bikes.
I bought a 2008 Vulcan so that my wife and I could get out and ride. Not a bad bike, but it just wasn't great with my wife and I both riding it. Didn't feel very stable. For example, any big movement from her, or a big gust of wind, and I was having to steer it back into lane. It was kind of difficult to get a feel for countersteering as well. I think it's just a medium sized bike dressed up in big boy clothes.
So, I decided to test that theory and see if a heavier bike did the trick. Stopped at Big Moose Harley in Portland Maine for really nothing more than a test ride to see how stable the Road King was since it's 200+ lbs heavier.
Well, you can see for yourself the result of that test ride in my driveway.
