Default Hi from Newbie in Scotland (UK)

Hi folks,

Quick intro about myself (Phil) and my missus (Corrinna) who are avid Harley enthusiasts and members of the Dunedin Chapter in Scotland (Edinburgh). I converted from sport's bikes about 4 years ago and decided to slow my pace of riding down for the benefit of ear chewing from my missus lol and so we decided to buy a Harley after much discussion and browsing the dealerships. What can I say, a new journey had begun and a new life lay ahead for us both, which we had not realised would bring so much fun and comradeship amongst other Harley enthusiasts. We ride a 2018 Breakout which has been extensively customised with a retro 70s feel and look which does not resemble the original bike at all now really. We wanted sporty fun but retro looks and we think we have achieved that to a degree now. I am a professional engineer and ex forces (Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm) trained so fabrication and custom work comes naturally to me. Electrics are my weak spot as I am predominantly a Nuts and Bolts man who has been riding a restoring bikes since I was four. 50 years of experience must have some benefits I guess lol.

We are active members of the Dunedin Chapter www.dunedinhog.com and are looking forward to returning to Thunder in The Glens in Aviemore Home (titg.co.uk) again this year to meet our friends and fellow riders for what should be an excellent gathering this year. If you haven't tried it, give it a go, you won't regret it.

I look forward to getting to know this forum more in depth and hopefully sharing some of my experience on here for those it may benefit.

Phil...

Welcome from PA! I find it fascinating and awesome that people in foreign lands love Harleys. I used to have a Buell and those bike seemed more popular in Europe than here in the US.

Welcome from North Beach, FL., USA!

Just in case you have not done both of these two important items!

Be sure to add an Avatar of your favorite shot in the USER set up for the small picture others will see in the top left corner of your post with your USER name.

And most importantly a Signature Line in your USER set up for your bike model, year, and all the letters that Harley recognizes it with that others see at the bottom.

This enables others to know your exact model if you ever ask a question or another member interested in it may ask you a question about it.

Your all set.... Enjoy the ride! ______________
