Thanks you all. It will take m a month or two to get familiarized with evrything here but hope to watch the forum every day or so, especially in winter when I'm not riding.
I made an appointmnt yesterday for the 1,000 mile service on my new FXLRS and the guy said, "didn't you just buy this bike?" I said yes but that doesn't mean I'm not riding it. In less than two weeks I've put 1,000 miles on it plus another 100 on my old XV 1700.
Thanks everyone, I'm already learning a few things about Harleys and FXLRs in particulars.
I love this bike! It's fun to ride.
1700 miles and had it almost a month already.
I'm really looking forward to reading about you all and seeing your experiences here. Delivered to my door! Out riding. Riding with my buddy. More riding.
I just purchased a new 2023 FXLRS on 4/27/24. My first Harley.
The past 8 years I've been riding a 2007 Yamaha XV 1700 and have ridden it 58,000 miles. The reason I bought the FXLRS is that the Yamahas suspension is worn out and I can't get a new monoshock for it.
I really like the FXLRS for the acceleration, handling and braking abilities, the cruise control is nice too.
It's nice changing off on both bikes because I notice the differences.
I'm getting used to the foot pegs on the Harley and the more upright riding position. It's a fun bike to ride and I have over 750 miles on it, it had 5 miles when I test rode it.
So far I read about its rear brake weakness on this forum and that's what I noticed on mine, the amout of pedal travel. I've always used the front brake (since I was 11 years old) to slow the bike down and just use the rear to keep things straight. I'm looking forward to learning about the bike on this forum and hearing what others opinions are. Delivered to my house 4/27/24 Just delivered Left: 2023 FXLRS, Right 2007 Yamaha XV 1700 Out riding
