The past 8 years I've been riding a 2007 Yamaha XV 1700 and have ridden it 58,000 miles. The reason I bought the FXLRS is that the Yamahas suspension is worn out and I can't get a new monoshock for it.
I really like the FXLRS for the acceleration, handling and braking abilities, the cruise control is nice too.
It's nice changing off on both bikes because I notice the differences.
I'm getting used to the foot pegs on the Harley and the more upright riding position. It's a fun bike to ride and I have over 750 miles on it, it had 5 miles when I test rode it.
So far I read about its rear brake weakness on this forum and that's what I noticed on mine, the amout of pedal travel. I've always used the front brake (since I was 11 years old) to slow the bike down and just use the rear to keep things straight. I'm looking forward to learning about the bike on this forum and hearing what others opinions are.

I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here.
Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information.
The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.
Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the years.
Of course, you can add it to any thread with a question.
You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature lines.
If you like, you can also add another favorite picture for an Avatar you see at the top left of all your posts as a postage stamp.
