Twin Cam 96 Engine Ping....
I am new to this forum. I own a new 07 Streetglide with the 96 motor. I ride the hell out of my bikes and this is the first one that has had a engine ping that can be heard at 70+ mph in 5th or 6th gear. My motor is stock except for Screaming Chicken slip on's. I just completed a 4000 mile ride from Chicago to the West coast and left my bike in Arizona for the winter. The motor pinged all the way across country and has done so for the last 15,000 miles. Various dealers across country claim to know of this problem but have no fix. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the new 96 motor? Thanks, Lance.

Check the tech forums.Could be lots of things-grade of gas(some brands are lower octane) Generally speaking a fuel management system set up properly will take care of ping and reduce heat
