Just found the forum and wanted to say hello. I'm Steve from Carnation, Washington, with a 2000 Wide Glide pained Bumblebee yellow n black. I don't ride much in the rain, and seeing how it's rained for 814 straight days here, I thought I could at least find somebody here to talk bikes with.[sm=biker2.gif]
Man, this is a big forum. I feel like I just walked into a stadium full of bikers.
Welcome, sounds like you may ride the same bike I have, 2000 WG, yellow and black........have not seen many, I think I have pics in my gallery, post a pic if you can
Yup, just like that one. Ever seen one that's the opposite? Yellow on black? I think that was early nineties. I pulled up next to a black guy on one of those once, and it occurred to me that if he'd been wearing white leather, we'd be a photo negative of each other.
Welcome! Love the FXDWG too! However, being from Alaska for 25+ yrs now, I've learned that if you don't plan to... camp, hunt, hike, fish, or RIDE[sm=grinangel.gif] ect..... In the rain, you don't get to do it very often at all.[>:]and we only have 5-6 good riding months here. So I did do some wet riding this last summer, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. ('cept for the hail surprize, when a fellow rider asked, and I quote "ever been swimmin' on your Harley?" and was NOT exagerating!) Another time on our planned trip (12+ riders) to Seward for lunch/dinner (300miles+rnd-trip) upon which it rained most of the way[:'(], I just rode only as fast as I felt comfortable,(>65-ish hwy spd) and made sure I knew where the next stop was in case I fell behind.(and I did) Some of the front guys were doin' 75+ on wet curves with "wet-spray" visibility issues (da#@ tour busses)[:@] That's when I told myself, "I know where Seward is, and I'm gettin' there, and back, ALIVE!"
You are correct, this is a big place and it's full of friendly and knowledgeable harley riders. Stick around and have some fun with us. We can usually answer your questions for you. Just jump right in.

Welcome Steve. glad to have you with us. This is a good place to find people to talk bike's alright, the only thing is , most are out riding. We don't have 814 straight days of rain. Do what I did. I bought a "rain bike" a cheap sportster I can ride on sloppy days and keep the others clean.
