Hi, my name is Jen and I just bought my first bike. It's a 1980 Sportster. I bought it from a Jeep dealership for $3,000 AS-IS. It definitely needs a new front tire. But it needs other work, too - I stalled it on the way home and it wouldn't start. I had to roll it downhill and jump it (like I had to do with my old Ford Escort back in college). Still won't start via the starter. Might just need a new battery. Might need more work than that! But I look forward to owning it and riding it.
I should say that I am not completely inexperienced. I've been a scooter owner/driver for some time. But this is my first big boy bike...or is that big girl bike? Either way, it's been 16 years (and I am 33 now) since I rode those dirtbikes in the fields behind my boyfriend's house.
