Default ironhead eletrical

Hey I just joined and I need help. I have a 77 ironhead chooper. there is an eletrical problem I am having a hard time figuing out. In a nut shell the wire from the coil to the points is some how being grounded when it touches the case or is hooked up to the points. If i touch the wire to the primary cover it arcs. I have checked all wiring for exposed areas. found the starter wire had arced on bottom of battery tray, fixed it. batery ground was bolted to frame. wiring diagram shows it should be attached to case, I changed that. If ay onehas any suggestions they will beapricated. Thaks Rick
