I just took delivery of a brand new 2008 Road King Classic on Saturday.I rode herhome (3 miles) and parked her. I added a Cobra Fi2000r fuel management thing-a-mabob (took me about an hour). I couldn't wait to start her up and try her out. I turned on the ignition and NOTHING happened. I didn't get a headlight, or a fuel pump whine, or anything at all. I spent 9 hours looking for the problem. Yep, 9. I FINALLY figured out what the problem was. The directions for the Fi2000 tell the installer to lift the rear of the gas tank as far as possible, and to block it UP with a piece of wood. Cool...I can do that. Or so I thought. The problem with that particular instruction is that when you lift therear of the fuel tank a wiring harnessbetween thedash and the gas tank becomes separated. Ask me how I know.
