Default Fuel spray in tank

been having gas smell after shut down, doesn't mayor how much gas is in tank or outside temp, took it to shop, can't find nothing, i did notice some fuel vapor leaving the tube that is attached to the nipple next to the fuel gap, and also noticed some spray inside the tank when its turned on, from what i have been reading this is a problem, not sure if this constitutes a leak or not, or why I've been smelling gas, bike runs fine, but runs little on hot side.

Your EFI pump is inside the tank along with pressurised fuel lines. Sounds as if a component has failed and is spraying that pressurised fuel. It's likely that after a short while the pressure will drop to zero and there will be no trace of spray. However when turning on the ignition the system will re-pressurise again, so the spray will start up once more. You can see what is inside your tank by taking a look at an on-line parts website.

When we pull our bikes in the garage after a ride the garage door stays open for 30 min. to an hour to let the gas odor out. Both our bikes are sitting in a chock's with just over 1/4 tank of fuel and I see the same spray, I believe it's from the pressure regulator, hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong.

This thread was started in 2008, not sure if this is your problem or not, but it might be.

yea sounds like the same, thanks for pointing in the right direction, doesn't seem to hard of a DIY fix, if its just a hose or fitting.

The fuel system will stay pressurized after shutdown for a while (sometimes overnight) when you key on and switch to run the fuel pump cycles on a timer controlled by the ECM. If the system still has pressure the fuel the pump is pumping is bypassed at the regulator inside the tank. This is probably what you are seeing. If your fuel cap is sealing the tank you should not be getting any fuel smell outside of the tank no matter what is going on inside. Your issue could be normal or running rich at idle when you come in the garage or you could have a fuel injector leaking some fuel at shut off. Try looking in the intake at shut off and see if fuel is dripping in the throttle body.
Good Luck with it.

normally if you get a hole in the line inside the tank, the bike will stop running once the tank gets empty enough exposing the hole in the line.

Yours isn't bad but spraying in the tank is definitely a sign of an internal leak. I had a fuel filter housing fail and it sprayed like crazy inside the tank and the bike still ran. Later rubbed a hole in the fuel line and it left me stranded. It's not too hard to pull the top off of the tank and take a look. Could be something as simple as the oring on the fuel filter.

Good luck

Don't know if the 13's are the same or not, but just had my 2016 ultra in the dealership for this exact problem. The pressure relief valve will spray inside the tank and look like a leak.

Normal operation.
The fuel system gets pressurized, once pressurized the pressure release valve will open causing the spray while the system maintains pressure. The holes in the lines were a problem on some models, but that made it impossible for the system to maintain pressure and the engine ran poorly.
I also get the gas smell in the garage when parking the bike. More so when the tank is near empty.
