Default haggling

Hello all, I'm in the process of buying a ultra classic electra glide from hd of north texas in carrollton. the total price of the bike is around 22500 with the few added goodies that I have picked out. I've told the salesman that they're gonna have to come off the price in the neighborhood of 750-1000 bucks he acts like that just can't be done. keep in mind our negioations are done over the phone and we really havn't had a chance to do much face to face. is it really that uncommon for harley dealers to not haggle at all or should I take my business elsewhere.

Most HD dealers will work with you on a price, especially in these times of people holding on to thier money. I would check with more than HD dealer. Good luck and welcome from Ohio.

Welcome from Virginia.
Might be good if you met them face to face. Sales people get a lot of calls just checking prices and most don't take them too seriously. Being there might persuade them to do better. Just a thought...

I did visit the dealership once and looked at the bike, didn't really have time for a test ride or negotiate a price, I was just wondering if haggling is a no-no for harley dealers. I do appreciate the advice and I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions and maybe provide a few answers someday.

Two years ago, Carrolton wouldn't even work with me on an Ultra. Said the price was MSRP. I ended up paying about $1500 less at Bleu Bayou in Monroe, LA. Smaller, hungrier dealer maybe?

Welcome to forums from Michigan... Loco I would look around and shop, not only for best price but best interest rate also. Sometimes the best price doesn't outweigh the dealers service. I personally went with the small dealer, got a good price and great interest... about 3% lower the the big dealer 5 minutes from my house.
