Default New From Wyoming

Hey all, just joined the group from wonderful Wyoming. I am 29 have been shopping my first Harley for about 2 months and have settled on a Sportster 1200 Custom, based on look, feel and price. However, when I try to talk with a sales person about moving forward with a purchase, I constantly get that I am too tall and will not be comfortable. I am right at 6'2" and about 180lbs, to me that is not that big. I get the feeling they want me to move to a Big Twin to boost their commission....any input? Thanks.

A lot of riders will upgrade after a little ridin. A 1200 is not too small, especially if you have forward controls. A Dyna is about 3K more and a very nice bike. I always say is it a personal thing when buying a bike. Buy what you like and if the salesman does not want that, find another dealer.

don't really think its just commission, mostly I always get the feeling they want all buyers to be happy, to make that return trip.
others and I suggested to try another bike out, see how it feels then go for it.
I had a sporty back in the early 70's and I am 6'2" with boots on and I used to be 180, 20 yrs ago. Ha!
I did have a 6" over front end on it, but I felt fine on it..

welcome and pick wisely.... from Indy.
