Thanks for the hearty welcome! I'm from TX (a little town south of Midland-Odessa). Spent my youth in West Texas from Amarillo to Del Rio. Stationed in San Antonio a couple of times. Sure miss home. Right now I'm at Scott AFB in Illinois, and I have to be honest; my dream is to ride the West Texas backroads on my Fat Boy. I'd love to do Big Bend, Marfa, Alpine, Sanderson and Fort Davis. I wouldn't mind touring the hill country in the spring, either. I've wanted a Harley ever since I rode as a passenger back in 1984, rumbling through the streets of dusty Fort Stockton. Nothing else would do, and I'm so lucky that my wife enjoys the ride as well. I think she was more stoked than I was when I finally told her I'd waited long enough. And it's always been the Fat Boy.

It's great to have such a forum, and I know I'll be seeking your expertise from time to time. I've already got my wife looking at the local Harley dealer for a battery tender. Heart-felt thanks for the advice...

I am also a new member and I am trying to find out about putting in spark plugs in a yamaha 650 classic- v-star. Has anyone had any trouble with this. I am sure that it doesn't really matter which bike i'm on. I tried to replace the spark plugs yesterday, they both came out fine, and one went in just fine, but the other is nearly impossible to get in. Is there anything I can buy to clean the threads with out getting any debris in my engine? Or am I just doing something wrong? Please respond ASAP.

Glad you found us. Beautiful bike you've got there, remember, if you sleep 12 hours a day, your stay there is only half as long!
